VAT Exemption

If you have or are in the process of buying a mobility scooter from us, please complete the VAT exemption form provided at the checkout.

Mobility aids are VAT Exempt Products which are designed specifically for the relief of chronic illness or disability and in most cases are eligible to be purchased without VAT.

To comply with VAT rules, we require a declaration regarding the long-term illness or disability of the person for whom the product is being purchased.

What proof do we need to provide?

In order to waive VAT on your purchase, the government requires a simple declaration to be made as to the nature of your disability at the time of ordering. No proof of your disability need be shown to any party, at any time.

The process to claim VAT relief is very straightforward.

The following details are required: Name, address, and disability of the person the equipment is for or the type of chronic sickness or disability that exists. There is no requirement for a doctor’s letter or reference of any sort.

Some Examples of VAT Exempt Conditions include: Arthritis, Asthma, Diabetes, Heart Conditions, COPD, Hip or Knee Replacements, MS, Sciatica, etc.

If you do not qualify for VAT Relief, we are required by law to add 20% VAT to the final sale price
